Patient Testimonial
Upon reading about Dr.Schwartz’s chiropractic training and treatment style, I both intuitively and instinctively knew that he could help me with my back pain. I was told by my family doctor that I had scoliosis but was not aware of the extent of the damage and the arthritis that affected my spine as well. My doctor felt that physiotherapy and chiropractic were better solutions than surgery.
After my initial x-rays, Dr. Schwartz was doubtful about a positive prognosis for dealing with the extent of the damage. He expressed his concerns to me, but nevertheless I decided to initiate the usual courses of treatment: postural changes, sleeping position re-alignment, orthotics and traction. They were all helpful but did not address the severity of the problem. “Dr. Michael” told me of a new treatment being used for adolescents that was capable of re-aligning the spine. It was a flexible brace invented by two Canadian doctors. Our hope was that this brace could either relieve my pain, or deter the further damage I was inevitably going to experience.
What an amazing success story. I no longer suffer from sciatic pain. I stand with good posture. The constant neck and lower back pain has disappeared. I can easily “shoulder check” when I change lanes while driving. Most importantly I have a new vitality. I feel more alive and more aware. I feel like the people on the commercials who rip the film off their faces after taking allergy medication. I am no longer in a fog. My spinal nerve networks are functioning in a manner that makes my life pain free while I wear the brace.
If I put some forethought into my wardrobe, the brace is not visible under my clothing. It is not uncomfortable to wear. I have free movement and I am able to pursue physical activities without restriction.
Dr. Schwartz went the distance in becoming certified to administer this treatment because he really cares about his patients. I am very proud to be one of his success stories.

| The shape of the torso in patients with
idiopathic scoliosis is considered to reflect the shape
of the vertebral column, however the direct correlation
between parameters describing clinical deformity and
those characterizing radiological curvature was reported
to be weak. It is not clear if the management proposed
for scoliosis (physiotherapy, brace, surgery) affects
equally the shape of the axial skeleton and the surface
of the body. The aim of the study was to compare
clinical deformity of idiopathic scoliosis girls
being under brace treatment for radiological curves of
25 to 40 degrees and non treated scoliotic girls matched
for age and Cobb
angle. |
