| About CBP® |
CBP® is a method of chiropractic spinal analysis and therapy that involves spinal and postural chiropractic adjustments, active exercises, and traction. CBP® was developed by Donald D. Harrison, M.S., D.C., M.S.E., Ph.D., and Glenn Harrison, B.S., D.C. It encompasses postural and x-ray analysis and correlates the sciences of applied mathematics, physics, and biophysics to the practice and theory of chiropractic.
The overall goal of the CBP® technique is to restore normal human posture and spinal position (Abnormal Spinal Alignment). It is well known to health care practitioners that abnormal spinal posture and position has negative effects on the nervous system. It is established that the nervous system is the primary controlling factor in immunity and is responsible for all bodily functions. As a result, uncorrected asymmetries in posture adversely impact the individual’s health and well-being. The objective of CBP® technique is to correct these asymmetries to the greatest degree, minimizing spinal degeneration (arthritis and degenerative disc disease) and improve neurological function and systemic health.

| CBP® Protocol of Care |
1. The initial patient encounter begins with a comprehensive consultation with the doctor to determine whether your condition is within the scope of chiropractic and CBP®. If deemed to be a CBP® case, the doctor will then recommend specific examinations to further analyze your condition.
2. A thorough spinal examination is then performed which includes any orthopedic and neurological testing necessary to identify areas of concern.
3. The patient is then analyzed with a computerized posture analysis system. This system reviews a digital photograph of the patient and analyzes any postural abnormalities.
4. The doctor will then take biomechanical spinal x-rays to determine the degree of distortions or deviations of your spine. Biomechanical x-rays act as a 'blueprint' of your spine. "To see is to know, to not know is to guess" and we do not want to guess about your health. X-rays will also identify important findings such as arthritis, degenerative disc disease, and other disorders of the spine.
5. Following evaluation, a patient’s case is either accepted or referred to an appropriate specialist. Patients who are selected for care will have their examination findings thoroughly explained the following day. This is known as the report (review) of findings. The doctor will then recommend an appropriate treatment plan specific to your particular case. |

Postural and Spinal Adjustments (Traditional & Corrective)
Traditional adjustments aid in lubricating joints, help to decrease muscle spasm and pain, and restores normal movement in the spine. Corrective adjustments properly correct Abnormal Spinal Alignment by re-training and re-educating the spine to its new corrected position.
Postural and Spinal Traction
Properly applied traction will remodel your spine back towards normal. Traction helps to stretch shortened spinal muscles and ligaments and is scientifically proven as one of the only ways to reshape the spine back towards normal – other than surgery! |
